Shiftboss/Supervisor Underground

Requirements:
• 5-10 years’ experience in an supervisory role or leadership role (underground mining experience preferred);
• Underground shifter/supervisor ticket and First Aid certification is required;
• Establish good employee relations and maintain discipline in the underground operation. Participate in Safety Program with workers, and address all problems related to ground conditions, environmental, health and safety and equipment;
• Responsible for enforcing safe working procedures, practices, Procon rules and regulations. The incumbent must develop a full knowledge of Procon’s Safety Programs and be committed to the complete implementation of the systems and regional mining regulations.

Responsibilities:
• Participate in Safety Program with workers, and address all problems related to ground conditions, environmental, health and safety and equipment to help eliminate all incidents and injuries on site;
• Set and achieve production targets in accordance with the company’s’ stated goals and objectives;
• Direct service, production and development personnel and equipment to maximize their performance and production. This includes the assignment of equipment and the supervision of its use and working condition;
• Maintain an accurate shift log for the purpose of communication reliable production and safety information as required;
• Verify that proper safety protocols, such as tagging and lockout procedures, are being followed;
• Supervise production and perform mining functions in an underground mine;
• Control and maintain adequate supplies of material to avoid delays in production. Establish a procedure to order, control and store material;
• Conduct planned inspections and review critical task procedures with employees;
• Investigate all accidents/incidents, as well as damage and loss.
