Procon is committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of all employees, visitors, sub-contractors, and clients to any Procon work site. It is this company’s primary objective to ensure all Procon work sites achieve and maintain a zero injury environment.
It is Procon’s aim to exceed legislatesd health and safety requirements by providing a multi-tiered safety program that includes:
-
Site based trainers and safety officers
- Job-specific core competency training
- Certification of employees in specific positions and responsibilities
- Hazard recognition program
- Site-specific policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and documentation
- Work place inspections and incident investigation
- Audits to ensure compliance with legislation and corporate standards
- Continual training of our already experienced workforce
To this end Procon utilizes SAFEmap North America’s “Competency-Based Safety Program” that focuses on the skills and abilities of workers to “see risk, judge the implications, and act appropriately”. Utilizing the “Neil George Five Point Safety Plan”, Procon and SAFEmap have created the Six Point Safety Plan that utilizes both the supervisors’ and workers’ skills in observation to identify hazards and act appropriately before an incident can occur. Procon employees are continually trained in this innovative new safety system and are awarded for its use and the workers’ efforts in the workplace.
