Subcontracted to Peter Kiewit Sons, the NNDDC / Procon Joint Venture has completed Phase I of the Intake Tunnel Excavation at the Mayo B Project. This work included slope stabilization, collaring a portal, and developing 220m of drift. Phase II will begin in April of 2011 and will include 40m of development plus 10m of probe holes to breakthrough into an existing tunnel. This work is part of a Yukon Energy Corporation power upgrade from 5MW to 20MW.
