Field Engineer

Procon Mining & Tunnelling Ltd. (Procon) is a successful Canadian mining contractor with sites across Canada. We specialize in above-ground infrastructure, contract mining, underground excavations, civil tunneling and construction.

Procon is currently seeking two qualified applicants for the position of Field Engineer to join our team at the Forrest Kerr Hydro Tunnel Project located in Northern BC. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Field Engineer will work alongside other Engineers to assist with the development and improvement of mine effectiveness.

Requirements:
• Degree in Engineering (Mine/Civil Engineering);
• 1-3 years’ experience in the field;
• Results driven- desire to succeed and work independently;
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and office structure software is an asset with intermediate knowledge in Excel;
• Strong organizational and time management skills as well as strong problem solving and communication skills;

Responsibilities:
• Ensure the structural/design procedures and standards comply with the law and corporate policies and procedures;
• Review project specifications and confer with Project Manager concerning project requirements; such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, evaluations of field conditions, design changes, and reports;
• Provide technical support to mine operations in design, survey controls, and advice for production procedures and methods;
• Assisting in the development of mining methods to improve mining effectiveness and safety, improve mining economics and minimize environmental impacts;
• You will monitor project progress, performance and scope changes and initiate changes when required;
