Area Manager
Procon is seeking an experienced Area Manager. The Area Manager directs and coordinates all site activities, while demonstrating leadership in preserving the health and safety of all project participants.
Responsibilities include the successful delivery or project objectives with regard to safety, schedule and budgets. Completed at the highest standards and complete satisfaction of mine owners/clients. This is achieved through the management and alignment of subordinate superintendents, supervisors, and technical teams.
The Ideal Candidate will possess:
- Must have more than 10 years in an operations management role preferably working for a Mining Contractor.
- Previous experience in cost estimating of mine and mills is an asset.
- An Engineering degree or engineering technologist diploma is an asset.
- Can be an existing Area Manager or a seasonal Project Superintendent who has the skills to advance to the next level.
- Will manage multimillion dollar projects and supervise up to 4 projects across North America.
Roles and Accountabilities:
- Work with the client, outside consultants, suppliers and other industry experts
- Responsible for developing mining methods to improve mining effectiveness and safety, improve mining economics and minimize environmental impacts.
- Ensure the procedures and design standards comply with the law and corporate policies and procedures.
- Prepare and compile budget and operational plans.
- Demonstrate visible personal commitment to safety on a daily basis through actions and involvement in safety plan development and implementation; by ensuring compliance to all safety programs, regulations and initiatives.
- Initiate, plan and execute assigned projects within budget, timeframe and quality standards and project objectives.
